The limitation to 50 kW / t for new drivers, is the result of a series of legislative measures that have occurred over time and did not allow a clear view on the subject. With this post I will try to do a bit of history and clarity.

Art.2 - Provisions relating to limitations on driving
1. Article 117 of Legislative Decree No 285 of 1992, as amended, are be amended as follows:
b) after paragraph 2 is inserted the following: 2a. "Holders of a driving license of category B, for the first three years after the issue is not allowed to drive vehicles with a specific power, referred to the tare exceeding 50 kw / t. The restriction referred to in this paragraph shall not apply to vehicles used in the service of disabled persons, authorized under Article 188, provided the disabled person is present on the vehicle. "
2. The provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 117-bis of Legislative Decree No 285 of 1992, introduced by paragraph 1, letter b) of this Article shall apply to holders of Class B driver's license issued to do on the eightieth day after the date of entry into force of this decree.

Article 22. Provisions relating to limitations on driving
1. Article 2, paragraph 2, of decree-law August 3, 2007, No 117, with amendments, into law October 2, 2007 n.160, the words "by the eightieth day after the date of entry into force of this decree" shall be replaced by "1 July 2008."
