art.170 Art.172 and CDS, as it relates to children

Salvo i casi di esenzione espressamente elencati dal CDS, l’art.172 del CDS obbliga il conducente e i passeggeri (anteriori e posteriori) dei veicoli delle categorie internazionali M1(autovetture), N1 (autocarri di mcpc fino a 3,5t), N2 e N3 (autocarri di mcpc superiore a 3,5t), che ne sono provvisti, ad utilizzare le cinture di sicurezza.

Vehicles of categories M1, N1, N2, N3 children with height less than 1.50 m shall be secured with restraints appropriate to their weight and conform to a type approved.
All models of devices, however, must be type approved in accordance with current legislation, which is represented by Regulation ECER44. In its current version (ECE44/03 1995).

.172 introduced in 2006 has disappeared any reference to the age of the child. Instead, a specified size limit below which any whatever his age, he has an obligation to use restraint devices for children provided that their weight is not incompatible with the use of these, in fact the highest class of such devices allows the transport of children up to 36kg in weight.

E 'prohibited the installation of child seats in the opposite direction of movement in seats protected by airbags unless you can stop. However, the violation of this prohibition is not subject to administrative penalties by the code.

On two-wheel mopeds and motorcycles is prohibited to transport children under the age of 5 years. (Art.170 CDS)
