Road transport for hire or third

All individuals and legal entities engaged in the road haulage for hire or reward by any means and in any capacity and tonnage must enroll in the road haulage ( Law 23/12/1997, n. 454 article 6, OJ No. 303, 31 / 12/1997 ).

first step is to get access to the profession of truck driver enrolling at the National Association of Road Transport Province of competence.
There are two types of membership:

• limited to vehicles with a gross weight exceeding 1,500 kg can be obtained only by repute;
• unlimited, ie vehicles total mass exceeding 1,500 kg, obtained by demonstrating the requirements of integrity, professional competence, financial capacity (50000 €).

After enrollment must be made market access at the office of motor civil authority (UMC).

In the case of limited enrollment in the company can exercise vehicle directly with GVW exceeding 1,500 kg.

If the company holds a subscription for unlimited exercise of vehicles with gross weight exceeding 1,500 kg must demonstrate to 'alternative UMC:

1. has taken a sale of company;
   
2. to have taken a supply of vehicle fleet of vehicles of category at least € 3;
   
3. access with at least 80 tons of total weight total.

In the case of unlimited entry every time the company also increases its car park has the financial capacity of 5000 € for each additional vehicle. The first vehicle falls in the € 50,000 required for registration.
